BEYOND ELEVATE: Africa to Africa (ATA)

“A business that makes nothing but money is a poor kind of business.”

Henry Ford

One of the best pieces of advice we’ve ever received when it comes to business is this: find your “why”. Your why is your reason for getting up in the morning, for being consistent, for giving a damn. Your why is yours alone. Maybe it’s providing for yourself and your family. Maybe it’s the simple enjoyment of the job you do and the co-workers you have. Or it could be the knowledge that you are making a difference to one person or many. Your “why” is likely a combination of several different motivators. The point? That getting in touch with our why has been a catalyst for growth both individually and within our business.

As the owners of ELEVATE, we feel strongly about our company making a difference in the lives of our team and in the lives of our clients. We are in business to make money, of course. But our vision for ELEVATE includes having a purpose beyond our bottom line.

AfricatoAfrica (ATA)

To that end, we are excited to share our collaboration with Africa to Africa (ATA). Noe and Amanda Detore, ATA’s founders, love Africa and her people

The Detore Family

The Detore Family: Noe, Amanda, Moses, Noah, Pearl, Lelo, Jada, Jude

with their heart and soul. They have lived in-country (Tanzania, Congo and Africa/Johannesburg), have six beautiful children who are African natives, and continue to make an impact through the work they are doing through their non-profit organization in Tanzania.

ATA’s mission is summed up in their tagline: “Africans transforming Africa”. Far beyond simply providing financial relief, ATA’s model focuses on setting up individual villages for sustainable, self-sufficient success through short-term monetary support, enabling villagers to begin farming projects that create lasting financial security. The overall goal is to provide a temporary infusion of resources so that Africans have the opportunity to generate income independent of ATA.

ELEVATE will be communicating with Africa to Africa over the next several months to strategize on ways our company resources can be put to good use. ATA has several microfinance projects on the horizon and is also expanding their reach into Rwanda within the next few months. The ELEVATE Team is looking forward to being a contributor to this organization in (hopefully) more ways than one. Keep an eye out for updates as things progress!
